Kinsale GAA Junior A Hurlers won the South East Championship yesterday, Sunday 27th September, after a gap of 13 years, beating Shamrocks on a scoreline of 1-22 to 4-12!
Played at Ballygarvan, both sides were level at half time with 1-9 each,  Kinsale started to pull ahead in the second half leading by 7 points going in to injury time but in a nail biting final few minutes Shamrock scored two goals! Kinsale held on to take the trophy with a one point lead! Congratulations to the players, coaches, mentors and their families. Special mention to John O’Brien who scored 11 points and was named Man of the Match.
Saturday saw two more victories for the club when the Boys Under 16 team won the Mid A Championship Football Final, beating Ballinora on a score of 4-12 to 2-08 at Bandon Road, while the Girls Under 14 Camogie team won their Championship Final playing Kilworth at Kilworth’s home grounds. The final score was 3-06 to 1-02. Seven members of this squad went on to play with the Carrigdhoun squad yesterday, getting a great win by beating Carbery.
