An overflow incident that occurred at a pump station in Denis Quay, Kinsale, on Thursday was resolved on the day and the pumping station has been operating as normal since.
 
Following the overflow incident, Cork County Council placed a precautionary notice with advice not to swim at the Dock Beach area in Kinsale and this will remain in place until further notice.
 
It is within the Cork County Council’s remit, in consultation with the HSE, to make a decision on the lifting of this notice. We understand sampling of the water in the area is being carried out at present.
