Sáile's Annual Golf Classic 2013

Sáile - Kinsale Sports and Community Centre Project held its fifth annual golf classic fundraiser at the prestigious Old Head Golf Links in Kinsale on Thursday 2nd May. The tournament was a three ball, better ball format with a record 27 teams taking part.

Perfect golfing weather prevailed on the day and under clear blue skies and a gentle breeze 27 teams teed off. This year teams were not only playing for fabulous prizes but also for The Sáile Perpetual Trophy. The beautiful Kinsale Crystal trophy was launched by Virgil Horgan and will be inscribed with this years’ winning team along with previous winners. The tournament was followed by lunch and prize giving at Old Head Golf Club.
 
Competition was tough on the day and final results were determined by the last card in! The winning team scored an impressive 52 stableford points, second place scored 48 points, third and fourth both scored 47 but results on the back 9 holes determined places.
