The outstanding work of KYSS in the provision of Mental Health Awareness and support programmes in our community was recognised and acknowledged at the Cork County Council Mayor's Community Award 2016 presentation ceremony in the County Hall last weekend.

The Mayor of County Cork, Cllr, John Paul O Shea, in presenting representatives of KYSS with the Western Division Award, cited the positive impact of KYSS in creating awareness of Mental Health issues and its efforts in the prevention of suicide. This voluntary organisation has, through community awareness campaigns, operation of a Youth Forum and a free and confidential counseling service, unburdened many and helped to destigmatise Mental Health. The offer of help and support is captured in the KYSS tagline "Take Care Help is There".
