Sáile Sports & Community Centre is kick starting the New Year with the completion of two new Rooms, a Multi-purpose studio and Community room, along with a viewing Gallery into the main Hall.
The completion of the two new rooms upstairs and viewing gallery in the centre marks that end of the 3rd phase of development in this now thriving community indoor space.  The space upstairs includes a multi-purpose studio equipped with Gerflor Taraflex flooring. This flooring is suitable for both sporting (e.g. dance, pilates, yoga, strength & conditioning etc.) and non-sporting activities (presentations, public meetings, club activities, examinations etc.).  The multi used studio is a sizable 7.5m x 12m light filled space overlooking the Bandon River.
The community room is 7.5m x 9.5m and features a newly fitted kitchen ideal for catering.  This space is perfect for smaller community groups to use, e.g. youth club, slimming world, coffee mornings, birthday parties.  The Community room is a welcoming space with viewing panels into the Sports Hall and out toward Commogue Bird Sanctuary Marsh on the other side.
The completion of upstairs space will cater for smaller groups and will allow them to become a part of this vibrant inclusive community hub.  We are very grateful for community and donor support in helping to achieve this.  Thanks to grant support from SECAD, under the LEADER programme, we have been able to install a lift which will allow disability access upstairs.
New space means new opportunities and the inclusion of more groups and we are looking forward to the new activities that are coming on board in this space. We will have Drawing & illustration workshops, Yoga/Relaxation for kids, Fit4Future, Posture Rehab, Slimming World, Pilates, Unislim, Safe Guarding Course, First Aid Training to name but a few.
