Kinsale is both a commercial and a pleasure port, 11 nautical miles south west of Cork Harbour and 8km north-north-east of the famous Old Head of Kinsale. The station was opened in September 2003 and is home to Miss Sally Anne (Baggy), an inshore B class Atlantic 75 lifeboat.

This station is classed as an Observe station. Observe stations also welcome visitors but many are in inaccessible places and best suited to maritime rescue rather than visits. However, they are situated in stunning locations so why not enjoy the local area, using the station as a starting point? The Kinsale Station is located just past the Trident hotel on the R600.
