We Want Your Bra! for the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk
Posted by Kinsale Advertiser on Monday 11 February 2013

Maria O’Mahony from the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk Committee and Georgina Buckley, 5th Year student at Kinsale Community School, launched the ‘We Want Your Bra’ Campaign, as volunteers helped put up flags and bunting in the town over the weekend.

The Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk Committee is planning to decorate the Pier Road in Kinsale with bunting made of pink bras on the day of the 10km Walk/Run, Sunday 3rd March. The Committee will wash and dye bras of all shapes and sizes, so don’t worry about any shades of grey lurking in the bottom of your drawer!

All you have to do is post your bra or bras to Maria O’Mahony, c/o Finishing Services, 71 Main Street, Kinsale, Co, Cork or drop off at the collection point at Finishing Services Kinsale.

“We hope to raise awareness of the Pink Ribbon Walk and remind people that Registration is still open on www.pinkribbonwalk.ie. Also we want to highlight the importance of being breast aware, as early detection is key,” said Maria O’Mahony, from the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk Committee.

The Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk promises to be great day on Sunday 3rd March, as every participant wears a Pink Ribbon Walk t-shirt and Kinsale shops and restaurants will ‘go pink’ for the weekend.

Brand Ambassadors, Cara O’Sullivan and Sharon Crosbie will be lending their support on the day. Over 400 men and women have already registered and are out training and fundraising for Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society.

Online Registration is now open on  www.pinkribbonwalk.ie" www.pinkribbonwalk.ie and registration forms are available at Kinsale Pharmacy, Finishing Services and Cronin’s of Kinsale.

The Pink Ribbon Walk is a national fundraising initiative which organises sponsored charity walks in locations around the country in aid of  Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society.
