MacDonald Kinsale Hotel & Spa host Mother’s Day lunch in aid of Edel House, Good Shepherd Cork

The MacDonald Kinsale Hotel & Spa is raising money to support women and children who are homeless in Cork this Mother’s Day. The hotel will make a generous donation of €5 for every special Mother’s Day lunch booked for Sunday 26th of March.
The Macdonald Hotel (formerly known as Carlton Hotel) is a resort property, set on 90 acres of mature woodlands and manicured gardens overlooking Oyster Haven Bay. This spectacular location offers breath-taking costal views and the hotels own private beach. What better place to treat your Mother this Mother’s Day while showing your support for mothers in Cork who are spending their Mothering Sunday in emergency accommodation.
Edel House offers a caring and nurturing environment to help women and children over the trauma of homelessness and a strong emphasis is placed on getting these vulnerable women and children back to independent living as quickly as possible.  Ongoing support is also provided after moving from Edel House to provide assistance with the difficulties that caused homelessness in the first place. 
The demand for the service is at an all-time high due to the ongoing housing crisis in Ireland.
These women and children who are accommodated in Edel House are often victims of circumstance that are well beyond their control and Mother’s Day can be a very difficult time for them.  Feelings of loneliness and abandonment can run very high accompanied by the belief that nobody cares. The support of the public and organisations like the MacDonald Kinsale Hotel & Spa can help us to ensure that no woman or child is turned away or left isolated in the future.
