KINSALE PRESENTS TO BANK OF IRELAND ENTERPRISING TOWN AWARDS
Kinsale Chamber of Tourism & Business and a selection of community groups and local business owners presented to Bank of Ireland Enterprising Town Awards judges Tom Dowling, Eileen Collery and Tom Hayes in Kinsale, Tuesday 12th September.
The presentation took place at The Trident Hotel, by Ciaran Fitzgerald, Jackie Dawson, Hal McElroy, Mike Walsh, Cormac Fitzgerald and Maeve Dynan of Kinsale Chamber. This was followed by a brief visit to Kinsale Community School, where Ryan Tubridy was also visiting, having presented his RTE Radio 1 show from 9am-10am.
Then, the judges met a number of local community groups at the Temperance Hall organised by Andy Ashford and Dermot Ryan. These included Kinsale Business Hub, Kinsale Tidy Towns, Transition Town Kinsale, Kinsale Youth Support Services, Kinsale CoderDojo, Kinsale History Society and Words by Water Kinsale Literary Weekend.
On a walkabout of Kinsale, they dropped in to Dee Mangan of Kinsale Leather and Guny Patel of Kinari Boutique. This was followed by a visit to Philip Gray Gallery where Philip outlined the inspiration for his exciting work. Sam Black of Black’s Brewery and Black’s Gin and Denis Dempsey of Kinsale Mead explained how Kinsale hotels, bars and restaurants prove a great base for distribution, tasting and food pairings.
“We would like to thank all local businesses and community groups for their help and hard work putting this presentation together,” said Ciaran Fitzgerald, Chairman, Kinsale Chamber of Tourism & Business. “It was another example of Kinsale working together and showcasing everything that is positive about living and working in our town.”
