Posted by Kinsale Advertiser on Monday 25 May 2015

Record crowds are expected at  Farrangalway on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st May for the Kinsale Point to Point,  one of the most popular sporting and social events of the June Bank Holiday weekend.
A large field is anticipated for the penultimate fixture on the 2015 race calendar  with all the top horses, jockeys and trainers in attendance.  Derek O'Connor currently leads the Riders Championship on 88 points with last year's winner Jamie Codd in second place with 65.  Liz Lawlor  leads the Ladies with 11 points, followed by Maxine O'Sullivan on 4 but with six races each day, the season could still come to a nail-biting finish. Racing starts on Saturday  30th May at 5pm and Sunday 31st at 3pm.
Clerk of the Course Donal Lordan says: "Our team of volunteers has been hard at work to ensure the ground is in perfect condition for man and beast.  We guarantee a spectacular weekend of  top class competition for the racing fraternity,  and first class fun for families who can enjoy a great day out with free entertainment for kids, fun competitions and a bar and live music on course both days.  Leave the car at home and take the free shuttle bus from the Tourist Office.  We look forward to welcoming everyone to Farrangalway on the June Bank Holiday weekend."
Sunday is family funday with FREE entry and entertainment for accompanied children including pony rides and bouncy castle.  Anthony Collins from the White Lady Hotel will be on the decks offering music and social commentary between races.  The White Lady will also run a Champagne Bar on course to lend a touch of class to proceedings!  Sunday also sees the famous Best Dressed Lady and Gent competitions with fabulous prizes including a €1,000 voucher from Frances Lynch and Hugh Fitzgibbon of Victoria's Antiques, a four-ball at the Old Head Golf Links,  and gifts and vouchers from Rogue Fitness, Egan's Opticians, Hattitude, Jane Boutique,  the Edge hair salon, Fab Fillies, Sienna boutique, Angels Secrets and the award-winning Daisy Chain florists. The Dog Show on Sunday at 3pm also offers a host of fabulous prizes in pedigree and pet categories.
