Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk This Sunday!
Posted by Kinsale Advertiser on Tuesday 28 February 2017

The 6th Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk takes place this Sunday, March 5th. If you wish to join the hundreds already signed up to take part, you can register in O’Connor’s Pharmacy and the Kinsale Pharmacy. Then on Saturday you can register in the Temperance Hall from 11am to 6pm and Sunday, 9am to 11am. The Temperance Hall is also the venue for race number/t-shirt collection on both days.
All roads will lead to the car park adjacent to the Town Park from 11am for a fun warm up with DJ Anthony Collins and personal trainer/Zumba instructor, Debbie Keane.
The run starts at 11.50am while the walk starts at 12pm. Join the fun at the post walk closing ceremony in the Kinsale Suite at Actons Hotel with Pink Ribbon Walk Ambassador, Sharon Crosbie.
Sharon will be joined on the walk by her son Steve (Connacht Rugby) and his friend Jack Conan, Leinster and ex Irish U20 International rugby player. Conan, whose mother Ann survived breast cancer, is proud to walk shoulder to shoulder with her on the day. Jack says
"My mother is the strongest character I know. I'm so proud of the way she tackled her illness and beat it with positivity. I look forward to walking with her for a such a great charity that's so close to our heart".
Last year Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk raised a whopping €43,000. The Pink Ribbon Walk is a national voluntary movement with a big ambition – a world without breast cancer. Every single euro raised will make a difference to people with cancer and their families throughout Ireland in the fight against cancer.
The very dedicated committee, which is led by Mary Kirby O’Donovan, are appealing to people of all ages to get involved to help raise vital funding for continued research and support for those effected by the terrible disease.
