Cork Schools Student Enterprise programme presented a number of awards today to young innovators and their mini companies at University College Cork.
Pat Falvey, world renowned adventurer and entrepreneur, inspired the young entrepreneurs during his address to almost 400 students at the Cork Schools Enterprise Programme Regional Final, â€œWe all have our Mount Everests to climb, and self belief is vital to success”.
“This is the first year that UCC has been involved in the Cork Schools Enterprise Programme Regional Final and we were really impressed with the innovation, involvement and commitment shown by students today. We are delighted to mentor and support the winners today and wish them every success at the national finals in Dublin”, said Dr Ian Pickup, Head of Student Experience in UCC.
As well as the main prize, additional prizes were awarded. Mini companies from Kinsale Community School picked up awards for the following:
• Best Business Plan: Fusion, Kinsale Community School and Vision, Kinsale Community School
• Best Display Stand: Flair, Kinsale Community School
• Best Marketing: Culinary Ninjas, Kinsale Community School
• Best Social Media: Fusion, Kinsale Community School
