Congratulations to Kinsale Tidy Towns Committee on another fantastic performance in the Super Valu National Tidy Towns competition which took place in Dublin yesterday. Kinsale attained a Gold Medal in our population category, not an easy task when you consider how the population swells during the summer months which is judging season for the Tidy Towns competition. The town achieved 5 more marks than last year, increasing points in a number of categories including Residential Streets & Housing Areas and Tidiness and Litter Control.
Another bonus for Kinsale was the presentation of a Junior Hero award to 13 year old Lily Fitzgerald! Lily has been a wonderful Tidy Towns volunteer in her own neighbourhood of Summercove, picking up litter in the area and along the beautiful scenic route of the Lower Road.
A huge thanks to all our Tidy Towns volunteers who are out through all kinds of weather, winter and summer, ensuring Kinsale remains a beautiful place for all of us.
