CARA O’SULLIVAN LENDS SUPPORT TO KINSALE PINK RIBBON WALK 2014
Posted by Kinsale Advertiser on Wednesday 8 January 2014

Soprano and Brand Ambassador for the Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk, Cara O’Sullivan, announced details of the third Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk that takes place on Sunday 2nd March 2014 at 12pm in aid of Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society.

It promises to be great day as every participant wears a Pink Ribbon Walk t-shirt and Kinsale shops and restaurants will ‘go pink’ for the weekend. Over the past two years, €205,000 has been raised by 2,000 walkers and runners – a staggering amount that is a testament to the dedication of participants and generosity of sponsors and donors.

It is hoped that more companies and groups will get involved and enter teams so that people can train regularly and enjoy the benefits of working towards a fitness goal as well as fundraising together.

“This is a great incentive for people to get in training now for the 10K walk and run, as well as raising much needed funds for Action Breast Cancer,” said Jackie Dawson, Chairperson, Kinsale Pink Ribbon Walk Committee.

“Unfortunately, cancer is not going to be eradicated overnight, but we are doing our best to get active, raise awareness and fundraise for Irish Cancer Society research projects and services, particularly in the Cork area,” she added.

Online Registration is now open on www.pinkribbonwalk.ie and Registration forms are available at Kinsale Pharmacy, Kinsale.

Also, there will be an Information/Registration Day on Saturday 18th January from 11am-4pm at the Temperance Hall, Kinsale.

The Pink Ribbon Walk is a national fundraising initiative which organises sponsored charity walks in locations around the country in aid of Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society. The objective is to empower individuals and communities to increase breast cancer awareness, promote healthy living and raise funds for Action Breast Cancer through a fun and rewarding experience.
